Perhaps because Chrobatians - Schokci, camed later to Croatia and to a parts whitout any Ilirian tribes (Slavonia and Srijem) is the reason they have today greater percent of "slavic" genes in them.Since I live in Srijem i can tell that here people are mostly shorter in stature then people from Dalmatia and Herzegovina and there is more blonde haired people in average then in Dalmatia and Herzegovina.Take a good look on this genetic map of I2a2 HG in today Europe (this HG is present only in Europe and it's interesting that is not present in western and eastern slavs, except in Ukrainians around 15%): And now take a look on this historical map of ethnic people 300-400 years before Croatian arrival to present day Poland in 4th and 5th century after that to present Croatia in late 7th century: One more time: What/Who do you see on this two maps on area of present day Ukraine?
Based on this we can conclude that modern Croats are a mix of Slavs, germanic tribes and illyrians.
Bottom line is that if so to speak ancient Croats and/or Illyrians have any traces with Iran I doubt that Croats have anything to do with modern Iranians because genetics tells us that Croats and Iranians are distinct people.
This map you showed is interesting only in one thing, and that is those similarities between area of today croatia and area in Ukraine near black sea..it has nothing to do with "dinaric" races but with something else, that dinaric fairytales are overcome on serious anthropological and genetic studies long time ago.
What is interesting about that map as I've said before is connection with croats with those people living on that area near black sea, even today.
Can Serbian homeland debate relate to Croatian one?
White Serbia: From what I read, "White Serbia", which is claimed to be Serbian homeland, became part of Poland, Czech Republic and Germany, while Serbs then settled East of Croatia and also assimilated local Illyrian (inc.
They were by the legend lead by king Bladin (perhaps he was knez - dux) and they later started to call themself Schokci (in old-Croatian schok-šok means the pig, Schokac-Šokac - the pig breader, through centuryes and today Šokci were known as pig breaders, who did not heard about the fameus kobasica, shunka-prschut, kulen, krvavica and others Slavonian specialites made from pig meat).
Even today our dialect (ikavski govor) differs from standard Croatian (ijekavski govor), I know this because my father is Schokac from Srijem.
Moesian) and Dacian/Thracian folk to create their unique ethnogenesis. Could be, because Sorbs have highest amount of R1a in Europe (63%), while modern Serbs have much less of it than Croats. Chrobatia was a state of Croats before we camed to today Croatia and it was a part of Slavic Kingdom under rule of King Samo (no one know exactly what title he realy had), this "Kingdom" was actualy military alliance formed by Chrobats (aka White Croats), Bohemians - Moravians (today Czechs), Sorbs (aka White Serbs), Polaks and other smaller tribes-nations as a way of defense against Avars who in that time were so powerful that they controlled almost whole today Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Romania and even parts of modern Russia. Croats have moved sothwards pressing Avarians and finaly expelled them from all Roman province of Dalmatia (by the legend they were called by Bizantean Emperor Heraclius to expel Avars from Dalmatia because they threatened coastal cities, they even besieged Constantinopol once, and Croats camed as a 7 tribe nation led by 5 brothers - Hrvat, Klukas, Muhlo, Kosjenec, Lobel and 2 sisters - Tuga and Buga), later Hungarians expelled Avarians from Roman province of Panonia and held those lands until Croatian King Tomislav Trpimirovich expelled them from Lower Panonia (Slavonia). century joined army of Polaks, Moravians and Bohemians defeated Sobjeslav Slavnković and his brother bishop Vojtijeh Slavniković (later proclaimed a saint) and burned down capitol of Libice thus destroying "White Croatia".
